Protocol
- Collection of sample between day 1 ης and day 3ης from the onset of behavioral cestrus.

Can be used as an initial approach. In some cases with clinical signs of cestrus, elevated concentrations are observed.
- Serum estradiol
It can be used as an initial approach as long as it is noted that an increase in its levels occurs only during the pre-menstrual period and at the beginning of the cestrus. Estradiol measurement is also used to approximate Sertolioma cases in male dogs.
